[Resolved] Removing the images in the header menu

Full Board URL: http://www.lyricsheet.net/forum/
XMB Version: 1.9.11

Hi, I'm not quite sure if this is the right place for this post (if not, I'm terribly sorry and you can move it), it just, to me, seems like the appropriate spot. Anyways, I'm modifying my forum's templates to match my main site, and I was just curious on how you remove the images placed to the left of each menu link in the header?

Thanks in advance for whatever is suggested.

Hi

you need to edit header.php (take a backup copy first), then have a read here as it's been done before:

I have figured it out myself about 10 minutes after I posted that, but I came across another problem. I can't seem to find the search link to remove the image from that one. I'm not sure if I have missed it or if I just couldn't find it.

I used to use XMB years ago and got pretty used to modifying it myself, but now I just need to get into the hang of it again.

Look for search.gif in header.php

It seems to not be there. I looked manually and I also used "find and replace" to look for it and it says it's nowhere to be found in the document.

In the include directory folder, edit functions.inc.php, find top_search.gif

Remove

<img src="'.$imgdir.'/top_search.gif" alt="'.$lang['altsearch'].'" border="0" />

That worked, thanks! :) I still had to do a bit more modifications to that same line of code to get it exactly the way I needed it, but wouldn't of been able to without your help of removing the image.

Thanks again. :)

Happy to help Chris. Your forum fits well with the main website. On the Suggestions/Feedback forum you have linked to your main site but there is a typo.

Thanks :) I tried my best to make it look just right for the site. I may have to do some modifications to the main site now that I have the forum. And thanks for pointing out the typo in my link. It's been corrected.
