XMB Hacks Support Policy

Existing xmb hacks are located and can be downloaded from: http://www.xmbforum2.com/hacks/

Welcome to the XMB 1.9.11 Hacks Support forum.

Please know these rules.

1. XMB's code "hacks" are intended neither for novice webmasters, nor anyone with zero knowledge of PHP syntax. Hack authors are making every effort to simplify programming tasks, but there is one thing they can't change: Editing the PHP files is very likely to break some part of your board when done wrong. So consider yourself warned that hack support requests beginning with, "I am new to this," can be perceived as highly irritating. New webmasters should be more concerned with learning about XMB and PHP instead of attempting solo customizations.

2. Making a backup before each hack install is required.

3. All hack-related problems can be resolved by restoring the files from the backup. Support volunteers would much rather look at your work to find the mistakes than respond to, "Hack x broke my board." A volunteer might reasonably suggest fixing the problem by restoring the backup. You should start your request by attaching the files you've edited.

4. Hacks written for any version other than 1.9.11 will not work in version 1.9.11. The differences may be very small, may be only in the "find this code" sections, but in any case the wrong version will not be supported. Feel free to request an update if you find an old hack.

5. Install one hack at a time. Always test the first hack and make a new backup before installing the next one. Support volunteers are very irritated by multiple hack support requests. Problems with multiple hacks indicates that you did not follow the instructions. Such requests are given low priority if there are not enough volunteers to handle them.

6. You are responsible for your own edits. All hack support is provided on a volunteer basis.
