I've set up the new branch for the translation files.

The latest English .php and .diff files are in there.

I started reconciling the missing strings in the French file as an example. It just needs those new parts translated.

Spanish is reconciled and just needs new parts translated.

Sadly, my spanish is no longer good enough to be able to do translations.

But when you get to Dutch, I'll be able to easily do it, and depending on the differences in German can try and get those as well.

Please watch for a few things:

Some strings were still in English or blank from 1.9.11 or earlier. So a quick scan of the whole file may be helpful.

Some strings, especially those with embedded variables, I replaced with the current English version if they didn't look right.

Anywhere you see a $variable inside of the string, if you could check that it's really present in the English version, it will be helpful. 99% of these should have 'eval' in the name. Most common stragglers from the past are $SETTINGS and $bbname. We almost never use these in the translations now.

For example, here's one that I just noticed that I missed...

German is reconciled.

Albanian, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, and Portuguese are reconciled and need translation.

Indonesian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese are reconciled and need translation.

All language files from 1.9.11 have now been merged with the English version of 1.9.12 and need translation.

I should have some time today or tomorrow to get this ready for our front page.

I also have some feedback for you to improve the file if you want to make it perfect.

In the Meta Data section, 'language' must be HTML encoded for compatibility with all character sets and translations. Also, because the 'charset' is different from the 1.9.11 file, it will break the encoding of upgraded sites and we must use a unique 'language' to help admins identify this file. For example:

This looks great! I'm adding just a blank line at the bottom and more slashes in bbcode_help_image.

Also, I was mistaken about the Meta Data. We add the UTF-8 tag in the $devname not the translated string.

I will work on the front page and try to migrate old posts.

As you know, the install and upgrade parts of XMB are not translated. If you are interested, we could collaborate on merging your Arabic fork with the full XMB trunk code so that it is easier to manage. But if you prefer to maintain the fork version that is okay too.
