Help with an old board Xmb 1.9.1 Nexus

Hello, im new and i need some help!

Im a super moderator on this forum:

http://fordsport.speedcentral.co.uk/index.php

We had the forum given to us but we have no technical support, ive had a look round and can tell its a very old version but it works for what we need and doesnt have too many bugs the only issues its got are when you select a member and you want to look at the profile you get this error message:

MySQL encountered the following error: Unknown column 'p.fid' in 'on clause'
In the following query: SELECT t.tid, t.subject, p.dateline, p.pid FROM xmb_posts p, xmb_threads t LEFT JOIN xmb_forums f ON p.fid=f.fid WHERE p.author='Stu' AND p.tid=t.tid ORDER BY p.dateline DESC LIMIT 1

Can some one advise me how to fix it? Also when im logged in i can see All the queries that have loaded, im assuming its because im a super moderator?

Any help would be great.

Thank very much.

This type of bug gets fixed within the XMB code and released as a newer version. In this case, it was fixed somewhere around 5 to 7 years ago. The solution is to download the latest version and follow the upgrade instructions.

Ok from a complete idiots guide do i need to buy it? How do i upgrade? Unfortunatley im good with cars not forums. I dont own the area where the forum is held or do i not need to? Im guessing i will need to back the forum up so we dont loose all the information?

Sorry for sounding really stupid, im just trying to help my club out.

The software is free ... You don't need to be the "owner" you do need access to FTP, admin, etc. Just download the latest and follow upgrade directions ... Yes, backup everything before you do anything!!

Ive got the admin panel open, to back up the forum do i just hit the back up Database button and go from there! I could just do with a step by step guide to get me going.

"Backup Database" is good, yes. That will beackup the most important part.
But aside from that, also download the "fortsport" folder. You can do that with FTP.
