[Resolved] change login from username to email

XMB Version: 1.9.11

I have an xmb forum and I have issues with people usinh their username to login.

Most people forget their user name / alias.

I would prefer a if member were asked to use their email for login

How do I change the login setting from username to email.

I tried edit it so that when you register, you register ur email as user name

The problem is I dont want my user's email to be displayed as user name.

Help pls

I see you have removed the reference to xmb on the footer so I'm sure you're capable of making the login changes, however you're looking at the wrong script.

You need to look to misc.php specifically the action=login routine.

What am I looking for to change.

Am not very good at this.

I asked a friend to take a look at it (who has been heloing with this )... and its taking longer than expected

What am I sup to modify there to get the desired result.

That would be a simple change.
But I can not help you... Like my colleague said as well.

Have started building my forum again and please note, I am new to this.

I understand fully well what will happen if I remove the xmb reference.
