which has worked flawlessly since 2007 has developed a serious problem without obvious reason.
The two files xmb_attachments and xmb_captchaimages are completely destroyed. Both structure and content do no longer exist.
The mySQL displays an error message " in Benutzung" or "in use".
The provider made a restore from a backup when everything still worked fine, but it still does not work. Therefore i think that the data is not the
problem, but that there is some flag set to "in use".
Any suggestions what the problem could be, and more important what the solution could be.

Unlikely to be caused by xmb scripts.
If it were me, I'd take a backup of those tables then do a
REPAIR table_name
for each table that has the error.
If that doesn't fix it, get your webhost to restore the tables from an older known working backup as it seems they restored corrupted tables.
