Question please. I uploaded the file as to my root.
What if anything should I be looking for to see if it works on the forum or is it just noticeable on Android systems?

It's for Android powered devices. Easiest way is to email the .apk to yourself as an attachment, then click it on the Android device. The install is then an easy process. If you don't have an Android device, then it isn't going to do much!
