XMB Forum Software

Footer Link Changed

From what I gather from reading other posts the original XMB forum isn't owned by the maker anymore, Correct.

Although I am not familiar with the reasons I do support XMB so I have changed my footer links to this domain name.

But it would help business if there where some replies on here which would help with users coming back. Surely you had the visitors on the other forum site and if you backed up your sql db you would of been able to place all those members into this new db and do a mass email on the changes.

The previous "owner" hosted the xmbforum domain and didn't contribute code or support to end users.

The situation became untenable some time back and a new domain and hosting were put into place as a contingency. There were reasons at the time as to why topics and the member database were not copied across.

There is very little support for the xmb scripts and I see no future path as there are no active developers, so these are your options: wait and see if any volunteers reply to your requests, look at the scripts yourself and experiment and learn, use a freelancer to get changes done, move to another forum provider.

Good luck!

Gees that's a real shame as I've done quite a bit to my forums.

I've actually tried the other forums and didn't like them. Guess I have to see what I can do with this one then.

What forums need is a forum developer which charges a few bucks for installing/using it to help support the developers.
I know I would pay for a forum script like that as although free is good and everyone prefers it, a small fee like 10 to 20 bucks each goes a long way.

Sorry to hear the unfortunate demise of XMB forums as it seems for now.

Cheers
