Under the avatar there used to be little stars and now there are empty white squares. Is there a way to fix this as I see the same thing on this
forum.

If you mean these are showing:
then that is not in need of a fix. It's determined by the theme you use and you can easily upload a new 'star.gif' image to replace the one in your
/images/davis/ folder.

That is exactly what want to do...however, I don't know how..can you give me step by step instructions..we are using XMB Davis as our main theme.
All help is greatly appreciated.

Well, check which folder you are using.
You can do that by checking the properties of the image you want to replace.
Or go into your "Administration Panel" -> "Themes"
Then click on the "Details" link of the theme you want to do something with.
Check the folder used at the bottom.
Then you know where you need to edit your images
