[New] Failed to open the spelling dictionary for language "en"

Helping someone out with their forum they are getting the above error when doing spell check, see image below.

They have spelling.inc.php in their include file. Any suggestions? I asked them to find out if their host has pspell/aspell extension installed and activated but I'm not sure that's the problem as they are not getting that for an error.

Any help appreciated
