xmb Terminus is vaporware
xmb Terminus is vaporware
After Michael at xmbforum made specific posts stating that xmb Terminus would not be based on xmb existing code, I read a recent post of his saying
that xmb 1.9.11.13 is Terminus.
I posted at xmbforum asking about this. His response was that 1.9.11.13 was not Terminus and then two posts later he said 1.9.11.13 was Terminus. In
either case, Michael had also previously said he would be releasing 1.9.11.13 soon - never did he say it would a copy of the xmb group's version,
otherwise it would not have taken him months to put the xmb groups (miqrogroove's) version available to download.
Based on his backtracking, editing of his own posts and also removing of his own posts (and my posts) about Terminus, my initial thoughts when he took
on the role at xmbforum, along with the fact that he cannot support even basic hack requests, leave me no doubt that he is in over his level of
competence and that his ego led him to take on the role at xmbforum.
The initial much hyped promised feature set Terminus by Michael is vaporware.

Look, He is the sole reason XMB dropped off after I left. He and Nick came in and took over and destroyed it and then abandoned it. Remember the 1.9.9
fiasco folks? He cannot code and he is not a developer or mod creator. He is the reason why Rob and John stepped up and thank god they did.
When I told iEntry I would handle XMB temporarily this last time to help transition a peaceful agreement between the former XMB staff back to old
site, he U2Ued me trying to get back on staff. Once I saw that crap and the fact that no one wanted to go back to the old site for many valid reasons,
I left it back to iEntry and demoted myself. I knew it would only be a day or so before Michael contacted them and took the reigns.
He is all vapor. XMB died in his hands already because he is inept. Nothing will change that fact.
You guys should not even entertain discussing that site or him in my opinion. Anyone who knows anything about him knows he is no good.

XMB 1.9.11.13 at xmbforum.com is miqrogroove's work, as has been most of the 1.9.11 series.
There may be one difference that will have no impact on your forum.

If people who use XMB forum software want viable and current security, stability and support for there XMB needs then stick it out here. 1.9.11 is
essentially all of Robert's work. If you want to trust solid and wel rounded and secure code and support then stick it out here and support Robert.
Everything XMB's original .com has to offer is Robert's work. There are no coders or developers there and they do not have the best interests of
keeping XMB end users safe and stable.

Last time he logged on was over 2 months ago and last time I looked, his website wasn't online. V2 is a dead duck.

as of now xmb 1.9.11 is doing the job but if there is no future development then i think it would be better to consider migration/conversion to other
forum scripts lik vbulletin/SMF/phpBB.
biggest advantage of xmb which i like is, you dont have to update all themes for every mod/hack.
just update few php files and templates and thats enough. But in phpbb/smf , you need to update each theme's files.
advantage in smf is that package manager does the installation/uninstallation of mods/hacks easily for you.
wish there was such feature in xmb too

We talked about that once vamsee. Maybe you can find the thread of that. In the 1.9 tree that is impossible to implement.

I'm kind of interested in the progress as well.
Until now, it's only 1 person working on it as far as I know. So we can't expect too much.
But what David showed before, already looked nice
